A Cricket County Old Folks' Christmas

A comedy for Christmas
By: Eddie McPherson Age
Level: All Ages Cast: 7M, 10W
Time: About 45 minutes

There’s a new gaggle of oldster hillbillies in Cricket County, and these spitfires and ol’ geezers are every bit as funny and feisty as the young’uns. Scheming’s afoot at the old folks’ home – but watch out for all the ifs, ands, and buts. Grandma Taylor’s friend has Alzheimer’s – AND Grandma wants to care for her, yet Bobbie’s hubby refuses. The opportunistic city cousins discover a down-home remedy that’s a true “miracle pill,” BUT they want to make a buck, not help the residents. Mimi keeps a therapy journal, BUT hopes for fame and fortune when it’s published. Glenda Mae will marry Elmer – IF he does as she says, and Oswald will propose to Brenda Mae IF he gets the family’s oil fields. But as Elkin delivers the Christmas devotions at the nursing home, Bobbie’s hubby maneuvers her wheelchair and attends to her needs … No strings attached. Amid big laughs, the residents unwrap the unconditional love of Christmas for the gift it truly is.
