First Church’s homegrown hypocrites, haughty Mrs. Tishwater and her spoiled daughter Tisha, can’t believe that simple backwoods couple Virgil and Margaret are part of “their” posh and privileged congregation this Christmas. When Mrs. Tishwater’s shrill-singing diva sister agrees to present a Christmas concert at First Church, the Tishwaters panic at the thought of Virgil and Margaret tainting the refined atmosphere. They go to great lengths to keep them away, but when Rev. Davis catches wind of their scheme, he devises his own plan to bring about peace on earth ... or at least at First Church. A heapin’ helpin’ of hillbilly fun, with sight gags, comic misunderstandings, “profound ponderins” and a cultural divide bigger’n the Grand Canyon. See who has the last laugh! Written by our popular playwright Eddie McPherson.
